Last night at the Duke we showed the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert on the TV screens.
The Duke was very busy, as usual, with many regulars choosing the comfort of the Duke to enjoy the concert with family and friends – and a few drinks! The sharing platters were popular, with choices of large sharing plates seen on most tables – perfect for this type of evening.
The concert was enjoyed by all, with Sir Tom Jones & Dame Shirley Bassey getting the big cheers from the older guests, then JLS received the young vote, whilst Robbie Williams was very popular with everyone.
Yes, it was an excellent line up of stars, which may even see this concert’s organiser, Gary Barlow, putting himself in the frame for an OBE come the next Honours List! He has done much for charity and is a good example of how a celebrity singer can use his status to give back to the comminity, the country and even the world.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
