A massive apology to all guests and diners who were disrupted by the power cut yesterday here at the Duke.
For those who didn’t realise how serious it was, the power went off to the whole area of Woodside around 2pm and stayed off until just after 8pm. A digger had apparently cut through a major power cable, we were told.
Many understandably cancelled their tables due to the uncertaincy of the time that the power would go back on – and we apologise to you all. For the few who took a chance and stayed, we are pleased it worked out in the end!
A regular turned up for a drink at 8.30 and commented how quiet it was! He had no idea how the day had been! We all laughed.
Hopefully we won’t experience such a serious electrical problem again for a long time.
