A short note – including a slither of hope! – 08 June 2020 We do hope you are all well. This is just a short note with a very loose but promising update… As many of you will have heard, there is a provisional date of 22nd June for a limited opening of Public Houses. but the caveat being just ‘garden service’ for now. This is NOT a firm date – the date was just mentioned during one of the government summaries so we are not setting it in stone – it is just a ‘heads up’!! As we said, there were a few messages today on this so we felt we would respond with a note via the website. Rishi Sunak said in the government summary that pubs may be able to open their gardens, but not the actual premises. All part of a ‘Save the Summer’ plan by half a dozen Tory ministers who are wanting to try and kick start the economy. That is finally something positive, at least (glass half full – excuse the pun). There are some logistics to confirm, though, such as use of the loos etc., but do please be rest assured we are speaking to the relevant bodies for a firmer picture and will then, hopefully, be making a plan. So those of you who were quick to send messages today with the news – Thank You! But we can’t promise anything firm as yet. We do hope to see you all soon. Stay safe. With our very best wishes, Nick, Annie & all of Team Duke |
