Legends' Nights at The Duke
We always look forward to our Chelsea Legends' Nights at The Duke. They all started with a visit by the late Peter Osgood back in the 90s, and were soon a regular thing from 2008 when Ron 'Chopper' Harris came to The Duke for the first time. Ron has attended many times since, coming to the Duke together with other former Chelsea legends and enjoy all their stories from their playing days. Over the last few years we have also welcomed Neil 'Spy' Barnett to The Duke with many younger players too. Some of the posts also include photos of the evening.
Ron 'Chopper' Harris is a Chelsea FC legend. Having played 795 games for Chelsea he holds the record for the club's top number of appearances.
Legends' Nights at the Duke have all been sell outs, with everyone having a great time on each occasion. With Chopper Harris being a regular, many other ex-Chelsea players join him at the Duke for an evening of old stories and memories shared of the game. Guests can contribute to Ron's charities by buying raffle tickets, with prizes being signed players' photos. Chopper often attends with comedian MC Micky Pugh, who warms everyone up and gets everyone in joyful spirits whilst Ron does the ‘hellos’. Ron then takes the stage and told many stories of when he was playing, with George Best & Jimmy Greaves getting a few mentions. The other players then join him with stories from their playing days.
More recent players to accompany Neil 'Spy' Barnett include Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Gianfranco Zola and Tore Andre Flo, amongst many others.
